We are celebrating World Environment Day(WED) with children, as they don't know about this day. We want every child should grow a plant on this day as they would get a new life in this world. We want the city to be filled with greenery everywhere.
WED activities take place all year round but climax on 5 June every year, involving everyone from everywhere.
WED celebration began in 1972 and has grown to become the one of the main vehicles through which the UN stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and encourages political attention and action.
Through WED, the UN Environment Programme is able to personalize environmental issues and enable everyone to realize not only their responsibility, but also their power to become agents for change in support of sustainable and equitable development.

I say LETS START CYCLING!!! Lets make cycling a trend in Delhi.
ReplyDeleteNo cars, Get out in the evening(delhi summer's are really bad) and walk more or cycle to the market.
If the Young people start doing it. Then everyone does.
We can also create groups for walking and cycling in the morning on weekends, Like a club, just to promote this amongst people. Set it as a task- like
Cycle till India Gate Challege. - Start a CYCL-ATHON
The more the people the better the experince.
What this can eventually do, if many people join in and become regular, will force the people to think about road saftey for cylcers. special sidetracks can be made, to keep them safe.
Anything is possible.

thanks alot Shiv for such a nice idea. And we too have our friends associated with us who are in Delhi Cycling club and raising the fire to promote cycling. We would be very happy to help you guys in putting up events and to make people aware about what actually are the Do's and Don't while riding a bicycle and also about the advantages about it. Hope u guys would like to be associated with RhyThM Of LIFE. We will surely make this a big thing as it is needed now.
